India’s Carbon Credit Market to triple by 2012 to Rs 4000 Crore : CRISIL Research

A surge in renewable energy investments could drive a tripling of U.N.-backed carbon offsets issued to emission reduction projects in India by end-2012, a report said on Thursday. And a jump in issuance of carbon credits to renewable energy projects alone could be worth Rs 4,000 crore ($890 million) by end-2012, leading Indian research house CRISIL said in the study. Finland’s Wartsila says it has no JV with Caparo Group

Suzlon was rumored to have been in advance talks with Caparo group to develop wind farms of 3000MW  of wind farms for them most of them in India. The report further mentioned that Caparo Energy was a joint venture company between Caparo and Wartsila (WRT1V.HE: Quote, Profile, Research). Wartsila has now denyed the report. Suzlon restructures FCCB, conversion price around Rs 100/sh Wind-power company, Suzlon has restructured its foreign currency convertible bonds, sources told CNBC-TV18’s Pankaj Poddar. The conversion price is between Rs 95 and Rs 100 per share. CNBC-TV18 learns that the covenants have been relaxed for the entire tenure. Suzlon will pay 1% fees to bondholders for the waiver.
