    India poised to overtake Japan as No.3 solar PV market in 2017

    According to reports, with 8.8 GW of projected capacity addition (growth of 76 per cent over 2016) in 2017, India is set to become the third largest solar PV market, overtaking Japan, according to a report by solar energy consulting firm Bridge to India.     Mumbai society switches to solar power, will save ₹5 lakh a year

    According to reports, Grace Co-operative Housing Society, Vasant Oscar, Mulund (West), switched to solar energy last month and will save Rs 5 lakh per annum in electricity bills, which means a monthly saving of Rs41,000.     BHEL solar energy portfolio crosses 370 MW mark

    According to reports, State-run power equipment maker BHEL today said its solar energy portfolio crossed the 370 MW mark in 2016-17. BHEL ended 2016-17 with a significant solar PV portfolio of 370 MW, comprising 360 MW ground-mounted power plants and 10 MW rooftop power plants, a company statement said.     According to reports, Praj Industries on Sunday announced the opening of India’s first integrated bio-refinery for renewable fuels and chemicals which will use a variety of agricultural residues to produce a variety of products.
