    ADB lends $175 m to Power Grid Corporation

    ReNew Power doubles installed capacity to over 2 GW with $1-bn investment

    According to reports, Sumant Sinha-led ReNew Power Ventures doubled its power generation capacity in a year’s time to cross 2,000 MW. It achieved the target with Rs 6,700 crore (approximately $1 billion) investment adding 430 MW of solar and 626 MW of wind capacity.     Tata Power Renewable Energy commissions 100 MW wind farm

    According to reports, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) today announced the commissioning of its 100 MW wind farm project in Nimbagallu, Andhra Pradesh. The Tata Power arm had commissioned 36 MW wind capacity of the plant in December 2016.     Railways to add 1000 MW of solar, 200 MW of wind energy: Suresh Prabhu

    According to reports, railways plans to use renewable energy in a “big” way and is looking to add 1,000 MW of solar and 200 MW of wind energy, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu  said.     Wind power bids seem unrealistic

    According to reports, the recent bid by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to set up 1000 MW wind power plants saw tariffs drop to ₹3.46 per unit.
