Record level of wind power produced in Gujarat

According to reports, on Tuesday, Gujarat saw its highest ever levels of power generation from wind energy, thanks to high wind velocities on its coast and steadily increasing generation capacity. Andhra Pradesh signs wind power PPAs, does U-turn, wants 25 pct price cut now

According to reports,  Andhra Pradesh’s electricity distribution companies (discoms) signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with various wind power generators at between Rs 4.76 and Rs 4.84 per unit in 2015, at tariffs that looked competitive then. TN to increase installed capacity of solar energy

According to reports, Tamil Nadu Government has floated tenders for generating solar energy to the tune of 1,500 MW as part of its proposal to increase the installed power capacity in solar energy to 5,000 MW in coming years. Inox Wind gets ‘AA-’ rating for long-term bank facilities

According to reports, wind energy solutions provider Inox Wind on Wednesday said that rating agency Crisil has reaffirmed the ‘AA-’ rating for its long-term bank facilities. The rating agency has also reaffirmed ‘A1+’ rating for the company’s short-term bank loan facilities, it said in a BSE filing. “AA rating for long-term instruments is the second highest rating accorded by Crisil for long-term facilities and reflects high degree of safety regarding timely servicing of financial obligations and very low credit risk,” ... Russia’s Rosatom may acquire wind power projects in India

According to reports, attracted by the opportunities in India’s green energy space, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corp. is planning to enter the country’s renewable energy sector. To start with, the Moscow-based Rosatom, through its unit JSC OTEK, may acquire wind energy projects in India. Karnataka discoms barred from buying more wind power

According to reports, Thermal power plants are facing the heat from wind energy, prompting the regulator in Karnataka to order distribution companies to stop signing any power purchase agreement (PPA) with wind electricity suppliers until further notice.
