Chintan Shah to quit Suzlon to join IREDA

According to reports, Chintan Navinbhai Shah, one of the top honchos of Suzlon, will be soon quitting the company to join the Indian Renewable Energy Agency (IREDA) as its Director-Technical, the Public Sector Selection Board announced on Monday. Suzlon serves Saudis in India

Suzlon Group is to supply 24 turbines to Saudi developer Alfanar Group for a 50.4MW wind farm in India. The Indian manufacturer will deliver 90-metre S111 2.1MW hardware to the project, which will be completed by March 2018. Suzlon will develop the project on a turnkey basis and will also provide operation and maintenance services. Wind capacity addition to fall to 1.5 GW in FY18: India Ratings

According to reports, unwillingness on the part of state discoms to sign long-term purchase agreements at the higher feed in tariffs is likely to affect wind power generation as only 1,000-1,500 MW of capacity is likely to be added in this financial year, India Ratings (Ind-Ra) said today.
