P2 Solar hires solar energy advisor in India; to partner with Indian company awarded project under Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission

According to a release by P2 Solar, the company announced that they recently brought on board Mr. Bharat Vasandani, a Mumbai based solar energy advisor, for assisting  in identifying and evaluating acquisitions. Mr. Vasandani currently works on on- and off-grid solar pv projects in India, real estate and green building initiatives.  He has previously been involved in consulting and financial services and business strategy. Jain Solar Energy awards 400MW solar cell turnkey order with Gebr. Schmid

According to reports, a contract has been signed between the Indian corporation Jain Solar Energy Pvt Ltd and the process equipment supplier Gebr. Schmid GmbH + Co. for two cell production lines with a total capacity of 13,200 solar cells per hour. These production lines comprise the first joint project between the Jain Group and the Schmid Group. China, India To Sign Renewable Energy Finance Deals

According to reports, China and India plan to sign economic and trade agreements in areas including renewable energy, infrastructure and finance during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao’s visit to India this week, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported Monday, citing Liang Wenzhao, deputy director of the Commerce Ministry’s Asian affairs section. India to invite bids for hybrid Solar Thermal plants by mid-2011

According to reports, The Central government plans to invite global bids for setting up power plants that would use a mix of solar and fossil fuels by mid-next year, a senior official said. “We propose a demonstration of solar thermal hybrid and storage plants. 37 shortlisted Solar power developers for 620MW capacity under first phase bidding of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission announced

As Panchabuta has reported earlier, developers had to submit their revised bid to the government (NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. (NVVN) ) for the first phase of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) sometime during the middle of last month. Astonfield to would invest around $2-3 billion in clean energy technologies in India in the next five years
