Azure Power of India,  just recently partnered with SunEdison to jointly develop and construct a 15 Megawatt (MW) photovoltaic solar power plant in Gujarat. According to reports,  Indian government may ask telecom companies to install solar panels to generate backup power for cellphone towers. According to the news, a proposal being finalized  by the ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) is aimed at containing the use of polluting diesel generators to provide back-up power. Azure Power of India partners with SunEdison to jointly develop and construct a 15 Megawatt (MW) photovoltaic solar power plant in Gujarat. As part of the arrangement, SunEdison will supply monitoring technologies at cost to Azure for projects up to 25 MW. Rajasthan Government to install 10,000 Solar Water Pumps

Rajasthan government has sent a proposal to the central government under the National Agriculture Development Scheme to install 10,000 solar water pumps in water scare areas. According to an agricultural department official a 5HP pump with save about 25 units of electricity daily. This could lead to an annual savings of about nine crore units. Astonfield and Belectric Team up to Realize 5MW Solar Power Plant in Rajasthan, India

Astonfield seems to have submitted an application for a 5 MW solar power plant in Osiyan, Rajasthan and the project was submitted prior to the new Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission ( JNNSM) and hence is  eligible to be approved under the new migration policy.  The company has indicated that the land for the project has been obtained on a long-term lease  and an agreement of execution has been entered into by Astonfield and Belectric.
