Sun to shine on solar, wind power may lag: Icra

NLC India tenders for 709MW of solar in Tamil Nadu

According to reports, Indian state-run mining and power firm NLC India is to invite bids for the setting up of 709MW(AC) of solar PV projects in the state of Tamil Nadu. Projects will have a minimum size of 50MW(AC) capacity in a single location and must be commissioned 12 months from the date of the Letter of Award. Solar energy storage manufacturers want lower GST levy on batteries

According to reports, solar energy storage manufacturers have sought lowering the Goods and Services Tax levy on batteries. According to reports, GE Energy Financial Services (GEEFS) is expanding its Indian renewable energy portfolio and is in talks with Avaada Power to invest in the renewable energy projects of the Vineet Mittal-promoted firm, two people aware of the development said. Andhra Pradesh mulls floating solar power plant at Mudasarlova

According to reports, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has planned to set up India’s largest floating solar power plant at Mudasarlova reservoir as part of the Smart City project. The project will have a power generation capacity of 2,000 kilowatt peak (KWp), nearly 20 times the capacity of the recently-launched floating solar power plant in Kayamkulam, Kerala. According to reports, the Chhattisgarh Government will implement 21,255 Kw grid connected solar PV system scheme for Government buildings located in Raipur city under Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model. Tamil Nadu to tax rooftop solar, cut support

According to reports, at a time when the popularity of solar power as a cheap source of energy is growing, the state-owned power utility has come out with a proposal that will reduce the return on investment for citizens installing rooftop solar plants.
