MYSURU & HASSAN RAILWAY STATIONS TO GET SOLAR POWER

According to reports, Mysuru and Hassan railway stations will soon have solar panels installed on the roof. It is part of an all-India initiative by the Ministry of Railways. In Mysuru Railway division, Mysuru and Hassan stations will soon allot space to private parties on the roof of station premises for setting up the panels. Solar energy prospects brighten

According to reports, the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has received the lowest price bid of ₹4.40 per kilowatt hour for its 500 MW solar tender, lower than its benchmark tariff of ₹4.50/kwh. The State power utility had floated a tender for procuring 500 MW of solar power, after its previous tender last year received a tepid response. MPs told to contribute for solar electrification of villages

According to reports, all Members of Parliament have been asked to contribute through their MPLADS fund towards providing street lights in rural areas of the country powered by solar energy. A directive in this regard has been issued to members of both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. The contribution has to be made from MPLADS (MPs’ Local Area Development scheme), it said.
