Delhi Dialogue Commission proposes 1 GW solar power capacity for Delhi in next 5 years

According to reports, releasing its draft on the Solar Energy Policy exclusively for the national capital in presence of Delhi Power Minister Satyendra Jain, the Delhi Dialogue Commission today proposed 1GW (1,000 Mega Watt) solar power capacity for the national capital in next five years. Govt may hike fund allocation for solar scheme to Rs 5,000 crore

According to reports, the Union Cabinet is likely to take a call on Wednesday on increasing the fund allocation to Rs 5,000 crore for the programme to promote grid connected rooftop and small solar projects. “The Union Cabinet will review the scheme providing central financial assistance for grid connected rooftop and small solar projects in its meeting tomorrow,” a source said.
