Renewable Energy Ministry budget hiked 20% to Rs. 12.12 bn this year

With the government working on several ambitious clean energy programmes, the Budget for the New and Renewable Energy Ministry was today hiked by more than 20% to Rs 1,212 crore this year. The total allocation for ministry last year was Rs 1,008.50 crore. National Mission for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles to be launched soon

Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) trading commences from today on Indian Energy Exchange

 The Electricity Act 2003 (EA 2003) stimulated the development of RE based power generation by mandating State Electricity Regulatory Commissions (SERC) with the function of RE promotion within the State. New Delhi to get its first waste-energy 16MW plant at Okhla in July

As readers of Panchabuta might be aware we had talked about  Municipal Corporation of Delhi to become the first local body in India to get carbon credits for the Okhla compost plant.
