Chandigarh UT plans electric buses in city

According to reports, to reduce vehicular pollution, the UT Administration has initiated the process to introduce  electric buses in the city. The CTU has invited the expression of  Interest from manufactures of the buses. Initially, the project will be started on a pilot basis on a couple of routes  with the eight to 10 buses. First bus to run on biogas to hit Kolkata roads soon

According to reports, come end-March and the country’s first bus to run on human and animal waste will debut in Kolkata and ferry passengers on the 17.5 km route between Ultadanga and Garia that are 17 kms apart at a nominal fare of R 1 irrespective of the distance covered.
