Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to earn Rs 2.75 crore annually from biogas

According to reports, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has awarded a contract for sale of biogas generated at the sewage treatment plant at Pirana to Rockstone Infrastructure Private Limited. Punjab panel to look into plan to recycle agriculture waste

According to reports, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today constituted a committee to study the feasibility of utilising recycled agriculture waste as alternative fuel. The committee, headed by Agriculture department secretary K S Pannu, will find ways to implement the project in the state in collaboration with a private firm. According to reports, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation approved a proposal to sell gas generated at its sewage treatment plant at Pirana. This will fetch AMC nearly Rs 2.75 crore every year. So far, the gas was burnt by corporation and was being wasted. Recently AMC invited tenders from companies to sell the generated at the sewage treatment plant. Shriram Group’s renewable arm to invest Rs 700 crore

According to reports, Orient Green Power Ltd, the renewable energy arm of Shriram Group, is planning to invest Rs 600-700 crore to set up new wind energy projects.
