First Russian investment in solar sector in Tamil Nadu

According to reports, taking cooperation between Russia and India in renewable energy to a new level, Russian joint venture Miyota Power India and Chennai-based  Al Ameen Green Energy on Mar. 17 signed an agreement for a 100-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. India’s solar capacity to cross 20GW in next 15 months: Piyush Goyal

NEXTracker partners with to APL Apollo Tubes to expand domestic manufacturing

According to reports, global solar tracker manufacturer, NEXTracker has partnered with APL Apollo Tubes for manufacturing a bulk of its products in India. According to a press statement, NEXTracker will be increasing its local steel content percentage to over 80 per cent by volume and weight of its final product. New renewable energy company formed

According to reports, Pashupathy Shankar Gopalan, who used to head the Indian operations of the renewable energy company, SunEdison, till the company collapsed in April last year, has now formed a new company. Solar module maker Waaree Energies looks to raise $100m

According to reports, Waaree Energies Ltd, one of India’s largest solar module manufacturers, has appointed consulting firm EY to raise around $100 million. The fundraising effort comes in the backdrop of falling solar power tariffs because of plunging prices of solar modules. According to reports, the low bid received for the Rewa solar park in Madhya Pradesh has jolted the market in many ways.
