Solar sector unfazed by India-China tensions

Indian scientist to head global body of solar energy experts

India probing dumping of solar cells from China, Malaysia

According to reports, India has launched a probe into the alleged dumping of solar cells from China, Taiwan and Malaysia. The aim of this probe is to guard domestic players from below-cost imports. An application for investigation into this issue was filed by the Indian Solar Manufacturers Association. Renewable energy industry wants cross subsidy waived

According to reports, renewable energy industry representatives have sought the waiving of a cross subsidy surcharge (CSS) levied by States on transmission. In a letter to Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal, Renewable Energy and Mines, Piyush Goyal, the Renewable Energy Welfare Society (REWS) has said that CSS is the main inhibitor for small investors to play their role in India’s clean energy vision.
