Power Grid to spend Rs 91,000 cr in three years

According to reports, Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) is placing a bet on turnaround of the distribution sector and prospective demand from states. “In intra-state transmission, Rs 1.5 lakh crore worth of work is expected. The positive impact of UDAY (the scheme for the distribution sector) and the Centre’s various reform programmes in states would kick-start investment in sub-transmission and distribution,” the government-owned company said in a presentation to its investors after the March quarter results. Adanis set up ₹315- crore solar PV plant in UP

According to reports, the Adani Group, a global integrated infrastructure conglomerate, on Tuesday announced commissioning of a 50-megawatt solar PV plant in Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh, under the National Solar Mission Scheme. The plant has been set up with an investment of ₹315 crore. The technology used for setting up this plant includes String Inverter Technology with crystalline silicon modules that allows miniature level control of solar power generation. Renewable power to GUVNL’s rescue

According to reports, renewable energy generation, which has crossed 3,400 MW, has come as a big relief for state-run power utility Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), which has been forced to buy costly gas-based power in the wake of lower supplies by top private power producers. Cleanmax Solar to invest Rs 500 cr in roof top solar projects this year

According to reports, Mumbai-based solar energy firm Cleanmax Solar, which reported to have a 23 per cent market share in rooftop solar space, is planning to double its rooftop installation to 100 MW with an investment of around Rs 500 crore. Maharashtra to float tender for 500 MW solar park

According to reports, Maharashtra, with the present solar installed capacity of 406 MW, has undertaken capacity addition of 2,500 MW by 2022 through public private partnership (PPP) and engineering procurement construction (EPC) basis. The state-run Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MahaGenco) will invite tender in July for the development of a solar park with 500 MW capacity at Dondaicha in Dhule district. TN to increase installed capacity of solar energy

According to reports, Tamil Nadu Government has floated tenders for generating solar energy to the tune of 1,500 MW as part of its proposal to increase the installed power capacity in solar energy to 5,000 MW in coming years.
