China’s Envision Energy to set up operations in India

Topaz Solar Power to set up 500 Mw unit in Odisha for Rs 220 cr

According to reports, Kolkata-based Topaz Solar Power proposes to set up a solar module manufacturing plant in Odisha with an annual capacity to produce 500 megawatts (Mw) of solar panels. This will be the first solar panel manufacturing facility in the state, which of late has identified renewable energy as a priority area. ‘Green energy can create 58,000 jobs in India by 2022’

According to reports, employment opportunities in India’s renewable energy sector are going to almost double by 2022, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). “The Council on Energy Environment and Water and the National Research Development Corporation project that utility and park scale PV (photovoltaic) projects through 2022 could create 58,000 direct jobs (in India),” IRENA said in its Annual Review 2017 for Renewable Energy and Jobs.
