Green Investment Bank may invest in Lightsource India

According to reports, in a sign of growing overseas investor interest in the Indian clean energy space, UK Green Investment Bank Plc. (GIB) plans to become an anchor investor in the Indian operations of UK-based Lightsource Renewable Energy. Hero Future Energies CEO expects tariffs to drop below ₹3

Suzlon’s first 2.1 MW wind turbine generator in Gujarat achieves 42% PLF

According to reports, the Suzlon Group, a leading global renewable energy solutions provider, on Wednesday, said its S111 120m 2.1 MW wind turbine generator has achieved a nearly 42% Plant Load Factor (PLF) in its first 12 months of operation at the Jamanwada site in Kutch district of Gujarat. 6 GW of wind capacity to be auctioned this year

According to reports, India will see 6 GW of wind power capacity auctioned in the current year, Rajeev Kapoor, Secretart, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, said today. Speaking at Windergy 2017 conference here, Kapoor said that 2 MW will be tendered out by the govt company, SECI, in a month. Part of the other 4 GW would be bid out by the state governments, he said.
