Wind power capacity addition in 2016-17 put at 5,400 MW

According to reports, India added a record 5,400 MW of wind power capacity in 2016-17, according to a government press release issued today. The previous high was 3,472 MW achieved in 2015-16. Notably, as much as 2,026 MW got added only in March again beating March 2016 record of 1,700 MW. PTC Energy commissions wind projects in Karnataka, Andhra

According to reports, PTC Energy Ltd today announced commissioning of five wind power projects with an aggregate capacity of 238.8 megawatts in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. SBI Gets 1,400 Crore Loan For Mega-Solar Projects

According to reports, the European Investment Bank on Friday announced a euro 200 million (Rs. 1,400 crore) longterm loan to State Bank of India to finance mega-solar projects in the country. The loan will support a total investment of euro 650 million in five different large-scale photo-voltaic solar power projects for India’s National Solar Mission. THDCIL commissions 63 MW wind power project in Gujarat

According to reports, State-run THDC India (THDCIL) has commissioned its second wind power project having capacity of 63 MW in Devbhumi Dwarka district in Gujarat. Solar capacity addition estimated at 7~7.5 GW in FY2018, says ICRA

According to reports, credit rating agency ICRA estimates the solar capacity addition to increase from 3.5-4 GW in FY2017 to at least 7-7.5 GW (in grid connected utility segment) in FY2018.
