According to reports, Gamesa has secured an order from Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited (IL&FS) for a 50-MW wind farm project at Amba in Madhya Pradesh. The order, to be commissioned in March this year, is a turnkey project and the first to be won from IL&FS.
As a part of this contract, Gamesa will supply, erect & commission 25 units of its G114 – 2.0MW wind turbines. The G114-2.0 MW is designed to yield more power at lower wind speeds making it particularly suited to India’s wind conditions. With a rotor spanning 114 metres, the new turbine’s swept area is 38 percent greater than that of its predecessor. This order forms part of the 278 MW consolidated orders announced for India vide our global press release. To date, Gamesa has installed over to 3,500 MW and services close to 2,800 MW, under O&M agreements.
