PTC India to be nodal entity for supply of wind power

According to reports, PTC India today said it will be the nodal entity for purchase and supply of electricity from wind power projects of 1000 MW auctioned by government. “PTC India is the nodal entity for supplying power to utilities after entering into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with successful bidders,” PTC India said in a statement. NTPC commissions 115 MW capacity at Bhadla solar project

According to reports, state-run power producer NTPC today said It has commissioned 115 MW capacity out of 260 MW of Bhadla Solar Power Project. “With this, the installed capacity of NTPC’s solar power projects touches 475 MW. The total installed capacity of NTPC on standalone basis has become 41,177 MW and that of NTPC group has become 48,143 MW,” NTPC said in a BSE filing today. Cheap Chinese imports burn domestic solar cell, module makers

According to reports, Indian solar cells and modules manufacturers have not able to cash in on the opportunity of rising solar power installations thanks to Chinese competition. Between April and October 2016, India imported solar power material worth more than $1 billion. Solar power installations in India reached 4 GW in 2016, up from 883 MW in 2014.
