Solar tariff reaches a historic low of Rs 2.97 a unit at Rewa bidding

According to reports, in what could be termed as an historical event for the Indian solar sector, the first year tariff for the 750 Megawatt Rewa solar park, achieved through reverse bidding, has gone to record low level of Rs 2.97 per unit. Rs 600 crore allocated for “Grid connected Rooftop and small Solar Power Plants Programme”

An amount of Rs. 600 crore has been allocated for the projects under “Grid Connected Rooftop and Small Solar power Plants Programme” and Rs. 508.84 Crore has been released till 31.01.2017. Orient Green’s Q3 consolidated loss narrows to Rs 69.52 cr

According to reports, renewable energy-based power generation company Orient Green Power company’s consolidated loss narrowed to Rs 69.52 crore in third quarter ended December 31, 2016. Its consolidated net loss was Rs 102.48 crore in the quarter ended on December 31, 2015, Orient Green Power said in a BSE filing yesterday. Suzlon reports net profit of Rs 274.34 crore in Q3 FY17

According to reports, wturbine manufacturer Suzlon today reported a net profit of Rs 274.34 crore in December 31, 2016 quarter as against a loss of Rs 121.84 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal. Solar gear manufacturing capacity still lags demand

According to reports, domestic solar cell and module manufacturing is way behind the country’s demand for the equipment, going by data collated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in January end. Under the National Solar Mission, the government targets achieving an indigenous manufacturing capacity of 4-5 GW by 2020.
