Indian Renewable Energy sector to see M&A activity in 2017

According to reports, Dipankar Bandyopadhyay, Partner at the law firm ‘Verus’ and an M&A expert, said: “An increase in FDI inflows through M&As is likely in stressed sectors such as e-commerce and telecom. Trai to initiate consultation on green issues in telecom infra

According to reports, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) is looking to bring out a consultation paper that would review issues related to reduction in carbon footprint for telecom infrastructure, including mobile towers. Government to unveil new solar-wind hybrid policy

According to reports, considering the advantages of integrated solar and wind power projects, the state government has decided to announce a new policy for such hybrid plants.  It will be called Solar-Wind Hybrid Policy 2017. UP jails to get solar-powered jammers

According to reports, in a bid to curb of illegal phone calls originating in jails, as many as 300 mobile phone jammers powered by solar energy are going to be installed in 24 district and central jailsacross Uttar Pradesh before the end of March 2017. The move is aimed at completely preventing illegal phone communication between prisoners and their aides, often used to execute crimes such as contract murders, robbery and loot. Solar panels for 25 schools in Kozhikode

According to reports, as many as 25 government higher secondary schools (GHSS) under the jurisdiction of the district panchayat will soon become self-reliant in energy with the installation of solar powerpanels. The district panchayat has given approval to install solar power panels at the schools after a feasibility study.
