Suzlon’s Senvion Wins 172-Megawatt Wind Turbine Deal in Portugal

According to reports, Senvion SE, a German unit of India’s Suzlon Energy Ltd. (SUEL), won an order for 172 megawatts of wind turbines for power plant projects in Portugal.

Senvion won an order from Ancora Wind – Energia Eolica SA to deliver and install 84 of its turbines for five projects in Portugal, the company said today in an e-mailed statement.

Senvion will supply 21 machines each to the Moimenta I and II farms, 11 turbines to the Picos Vale do Chao project, 19 units to the Tres Marcos plant and 12 turbines to the Sernancelhe wind farm, it said. The company also won 20-year service contracts for maintaining the plants.
