According to reports, the Andhra Pradesh government is according top priority to energy efficiency measures to ensure guaranteed power supply in the state.
The state will come out with a separate action plan under the guidance of the State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) for implementing short-term and long-term programmes for the targeted energy savings by adopting latest technologies. The report would be submitted by the SECM to the government by this month-end.
IYR Krishna Rao, government chief secretary and chairman of SECM, said Energy Efficient Services Limited (EESL), which is governed by Ministry of Power has agreed to make significant investments in energy efficiency programmes and had put in place an arrangement to share revenue generated on account of energy savings between with the state.
He said directions would soon be issued to all key departments including industry, agriculture Panchayat Raj, Roads & Buildings and Rural Development to form respective energy conservation cells for continuous monitoring of such activities, according to a press release.
