According to reports, the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers and Danfoss India have come together to develop an integrated approach towards project management and delivery aimed at creating energy-efficient buildings.
Referred to as Integrated Approach to Project Delivery, the model seeks to adopt a holistic approach to design and development of buildings involving various players in a project development at an early stage.
This helps not only develop the project faster at lower cost but also in increasing value, reduction of waste during construction and maximise efficiency, according to Nirmal Ram, President, Ishrae.
Nirmal Ram represents a membership of over 10,000 experts spread across 40 chapters in the country; and includes over 4,000 student members.
He said Ishrae and Danfoss have come together here today to be part of an interactive meeting to communicate the importance of integrated approach to development. The meeting is being held with various stakeholders in the construction and air-conditioning related segment and includes real estate developers, construction experts, architects and engineers.
Ishrae is planning to come out with a best practices guide which is aimed at helping people understand the importance of the collaborative approach to development.
The country’s cold chain air-conditioning segment is about Rs. 8,000 crore and has potential to grow to about Rs. 25,000 crore or triple given the market requirement. But the challenge is to find the investments required to meet such growth. This is possible only when the Government plays an active role in developing the sector, he said.
