According to reports, the Vadodara division of Western Railway (WR) has bagged four efficiency shields for the year 2013-14.
The shields of general manager are given every year in various categories for outstanding performance by divisions under the Western Railway.
The Vadodara division bagged the shields in commercial, medical, security and energy efficiency categories. The division generated Rs 2,444.32 crore revenue in 2013-14 which was higher by 15.46 per cent compared to the last financial year earning it the commercial shield.
On the energy front the division made a saving of Rs 42.3 lakh. It had earlier bagged the National Energy Conservation Award 2013, for office building and also got a merit certificate in National Energy Conservation Award 2013, for hospital sector category (Pratapnagar Hospital) by the Ministry of Power of the Union government. Improvement in power factor has been achieved upto 0.981 as against 0.979 during the year.
On the security front, the Railway Protection Force post at Vadodara got an ISO certification for quality management system.
