UPPCL inks pact with solar power companies

According to reports, the UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) entered into an agreement with solar power developers for purchasing 110 Mw of power on Friday. The agreement was signed in the presence of UP chief secretary Jawed Usmani, who said that under the state solar policy, the state government will be setting up 500 Mw of solar power plants in the state. According to reports, more than nine months since inviting Expressions of Interest (EoI) from empanelled agencies to draw up the master plan, the ambitious Solar City project for the capital, already delayed by three years, continues to await redemption. Solar panels to power Churchgate station
