NALCO goes green with solar energy

Ujaas Energy is to execute a large grid interactive solar PV project on the Roof Top of head office of leading Navratna Company National Aluminum Company (NALCO) in the city of Bhubaneswar.

NALCO which has taken many major initiatives in the field of renewable energy  has started with this small initiative with 160 KW.

The project will be executed under the allocation from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The project will be synchronized with the grid for which the CESU the local DISCOM has already given the clearance and SECI has sanctioned the project. The installation will be the first of its kind in Bhubaneswar which will be executed as per the recent guidelines of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for distributed generation resources.

The project which is to perform at minimum 75% PR will be providing enough electricity to cater the electricity requirement of NALCO office during day time when major consumption happens. From the solar installation it is estimated that the environmental benefit will be 675 trees saved per year, along with a carbon offset of 2, 70,000 pounds per annum.

Ujaas Energy which has executed more than 65 MW of solar PV projects in India and is executing  roof top solar projects in other cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Noida, etc for Educational Establishments, Hospitals, Industrial clients, both government and private.
