Non-availability of subsidy is not the only reason for fall in electric vehicle sales: Ministry

According to reports, the ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) has provided financial assistance for the purchase of new battery-operated vehicles (four wheelers and two wheelers) and supported 47,000 vehicles so far. IWPA challenges move to buy thermal power

According to reports, the India Wind Power Association (IWPA) has challenged the decision of TN Generation and Distribution Corp­ora­ti­on (Tangedco) to purchase 2,122 MW thermal power on long-term ba­sis overlooking abunda­nt wind power available during monsoon period. Tamil Nadu to light up streets with LED

According to reports, streets in Tamil Nadu are set to glow with LED luminaires as part of a sustainable development programme. Over 10 urban local bodies, including Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Coimbatore, Tuticorin, Erode, Salem, Tirupur, Vellore, Madurai and Tirunelveli, will replace around 2 lakh 40W fluorescent tube lights with LED luminaires.
