India needs $13 billion investment to meet solar power target: World Bank

According to reports, India requires investment of over $13 billion in the next three years to meet the target of adding 9,000 MW of solar power in the second phase of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, the World Bank said. Solar power plant for sadar hospital

According to reports, there is good news for Daltonganj sadar hospital that has been suffering from frequent bouts of power failure. The government hospital, which started functioning from a new building recently, will soon be fitted with a 37-kilowatt solar power plant. Incentives for installing solar energy systems

According to reports, installation of rooftop solar energy systems is expected to get a boost as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) will soon start implementing the Generation-Based Incentive Scheme announced in the Tamil Nadu Solar Energy Policy. The scheme envisages installation of 50MW under it. Domestic consumers will get Rs. 2 a unit for solar energy supplied to the grid during the first two years. IFC-backed Policy to Focus on Solar, Small Hydro Power

According to reports, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has offered to support the State Government in formulation of  State-specific renewable energy policy with focus on solar and small hydro power. The IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, has also extended support in formulating regulation for an accounting framework for small grid-connected renewable energy.
