Welspun Energy commissions 8-MW solar unit in Karnataka

According to reports, Welspun Energy Ltd has commissioned an 8-MW solar project at Chitradurga in Karnataka. The company has executed the project through a subsidiary, Welspun Solar Kannada Ltd, under the State’s new renewable energy policy. “For power evacuation, we have signed a power purchase agreement with Mangalore Electric Supply Company (Mescom),” Vineet Mittal, Managing Director, Welspun Energy, told Business Line. “The contracted rate with Mescom is Rs 8.50 per kWh. Hindustan Zinc’s green drive helps it save Rs 300 crore

According to reports, Hindustan Zinc (HZL), the largest integrated Zinc producer , has managed to save Rs 300 crore with the adoption of green technology by investing in wind energy and waste heat recovery projects. Surat I-T dept to save over 1L units of electricity

According to reports, income-tax department has set a target for conserving around 1 lakh units of electricity at its headquarters and other offices in the city during the ‘Energy Conservation Week’ starting Saturday.
