French EDF Energies, EREN acquire 50% stake in Indian solar power generator ACME

According to reports, two French green energy companies, EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN) and EREN, have acquired 25% stake each in ACME Solar Energy Ltd, the solar energy arm of New Delhi-based ACME Cleantech Solutions in a Rs 550 crore deal. DERC invites ideas for solar power metering

According to reports, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has invited suggestions and feedback from stakeholders on a proposal to introduce net metering for rooftop solar power generation as per guidelines laid down by the ministry of new and renewable energy. The commission claims that, with about 300 sunny days in Delhi a year and around 30 lakh households, Delhi has more than 700 sq km of built-up area for installation of photo-voltaic systems. Smart Grid investments to reach $274.9B in emerging markets

Smart grid infrastructure investment by 45 emerging market countries – including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – over the next decade will reach $274.9 billion, outpacing developed countries. This investment will be aimed at reducing electricity theft, improving reliability and incorporating renewable energy into electricity grids, according to a study released today by Northeast Group, LLC. Empee Sugars’ biomass power plant on the block

According to reports, Empee Sugars has decided to sell its 10 MW biomass-based power plant in Tamil Nadu. The plant located on a 14-acre land parcel in Pudukottai district has power purchase agreements for third party sale to industries. Infosys Awarded Highest LEED Rating for its BPO Building in Pune
