Haryana sets up biomass project in Mahendragarh

According to reports, in Haryana, biomass project of 9.9 MW has been set up in Mahendragarh district with a total cost of Rs.60 crore and a similar project of 9.5 MW in Bhiwani district is at its final stage of completion.
An official spokesman of Renewable Energy Department said that as many as three more biomass projects of 12 MW each are under installation in the state.

He said that Haryana is the only state in the country where installation of solar water heating systems, use of CFL in Government offices and institutions and four star pumps and ISI marked Foot and Reflex valve in agriculture sector have been made mandatory.

He said that State Government is providing a rebate upto Rs. 3600 in electricity bill of the beneficiaries who have installed domestic solar water heating systems. Under this scheme, a total rebate of Rs. 29.46 lakh has been provided to the users till March 31, 2012 Besides, State is also providing State subsidy of maximum Rs. 8,000 for installation of domestic solar water heating systems. Haryana has been awarded the best state nodal agency for installation of solar water heating system in country for the year 2011-12.
