GIC to invest £100m in Greenko Mauritius

An affiliate of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Pte Ltd – one of the world’s leading sovereign wealth funds – is set to make a £100m investment in Greenko Mauritius Ltd. MNRE sanctioned 15780 off-grid SPV power plants of 13.25 MW total capacity in 2012-13

The Ministry has sanctioned 15780 off-grid solar photovoltaic (SPV) power plants of total capacity of 13.25 MWp to be installed on individual houses in the country during 2012-13. MNRE implementing programme on energy recovery from urban and industrial waste

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is implementing a Programme on energy recovery from urban and industrial wastes including waste water. The technology options for energy recovery being promoted under this programme include biomethanation technology, which also treats the waste water for its safe disposal or utilization. The Ministry is promoting utilization of biogas produced through biomethanation of waste water for power generation under the Programme on Energy Recovery from Urban and Industrial wastes. Indian PSU’s have installed wind capacity of 711 MW in India

The NTPC had signed an MOU with the Government of Kerala in 2011-12 for establishing 200 MW wind power capacity in Kerala and with the Government of Karnataka in 2009-10 for establishing 100 MW wind power capacity in Karnataka. Tamil Nadu offers competitive price for solar power,gets 90 bidders

According to reports, at a time when Tamil Nadu is reeling under an acute power shortage,nearly 90 prospective investors have evinced keen interest in setting up solar power plants in the state.The states power utility Tangedco has offered to purchase solar power at Rs 6.48 per unit.Negotiations are underway with potential investors, said a senior Tangedco official. Government approves Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recommendations on Green Energy

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recommendations on Green Energy applications have been approved by Government.
