Gujarat bought 7,08,254 million units electricity from pvt sector in 2012

According to reports, Gujarat government bought 65,900 million unit (MU) electricity in 2011 and 7,08,254 MU in 2012 at average price of Rs 2.97 and Rs 3.27 per unit from private companies. More sops needed to make energy from waste viable

According to reports, even as the Budget this year has stated that waste-to-energy projects will be financed by public-private partnership (PPP) mode, a lot needs to be worked out. The fine modality of waste collection, separation and disposal in a smooth fashion needs a great deal of technical and manpower support. 40 projects sanctioned under RGGVY in Rajasthan

Under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), 40 projects (25 projects in X Plan and 15 projects in XI Plan) of Rajasthan were sanctioned  for  electrification of 4,339 un/de-electrified villages (UEV), intensive electrification of 34,783 partially electrified villages (PEV) and release of free electricity connections to 12,24,417 Below Poverty Line ( BPL) households. Northern Grid will get connected with Southern Grid by 2014

The Northern Grid will be connected with the Southern Grid on synchronous mode by 2014 with the completion of two 765 KV S/C transmission lines. These Two 765 kV S/C transmission lines from Raichur (Karnataka) to Sholapur (Maharashtra) are under construction. India sets target of 15,000 MW of wind Energy during 12th plan period

The Government has set a target of 15000 MW of wind power to be installed during 12th Plan period.  The capital expenditure for setting up one MW wind power project is approximately Rs.6 crores. Welspun Energy ties up Rs 8.85 billion for 130 MW solar project

According to reports, Welspun Energy, India’s biggest developer of solar projects, today said it has tied up funds for its 130 megawatt (MW) solar project in Madhya Pradesh. The company said it has arranged Rs 885 crore from a banking consortium led by the Central Bank of India.
