According to reports, Consul Consolidated, a manufacturer of UPSs, solar power packs, inverters and voltage stabilizers, has launched power solutions that will improve uptime and reduce operational costs of ATMs (automated teller machine).
Consul’s ‘iPEMS-ATM’ (Intelligent Power and Energy Management System for ATMs) increases the ATM availability to about 98% and reduces the energy bills by upto 40%, apart from eliminating the need to man ATM sites which helps reduce the operational costs of ATMs, a company statement said. The iPEMS has a built-in security feature, energy saving timer based controls for the ATM air conditioner and lights of the lobby and backroom. It also provides real time data for each location, generates reports and sends alerts on SMS and emails, diagnoses potential issues and resolve problems like remotely rebooting hung-up ATM, modems or CCTVs, the statement said. The product can be deployed for both new ATM sites and as a retrofit for any existing ATMs, according to the statement.
Consul’s other power saving product ATMSure can operate over a wide input voltage range without using a battery and also has a charger to re-charge batteries after an extended power outage, the statement said. This would help in ATMs in rural and semi-urban locations.
With its new products, Consul will capitalize on the demand for power backup and remote management solution for white label ATM roll-outs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India, the statement said.
