According to reports, Ending the year on a high note, IEX ( India Energy Exchange) witnessed the highest REC trading of 2012. During RECs ( Renewable Energy certificates) auction which held on Wednesday (December 26, 2012), India’s premier power exchange, received record sale offers of 8,56,761 RECs.
The total trading volume at IEX in the latest trading session was 1,75,252 RECs, including non-solar and solar. Total non-solar RECs purchase bid was 1,73,644 and all the bids were cleared. For solar RECs, buy bids of 1,608 RECs and sale bids of 977 RECs were received, against which 820 RECs were cleared at Rs12,680/REC.
Total participants in the auction were 367, consisting of 112 participants from Discoms, captive consumers & open access consumers on the buy side and 189 eligible entities on the sale side. More than 1170 participants are registered in the REC segment at IEX till date. Out of this, 394 are eligible entities, 771 are obligated entities and 5 have been registered as voluntary entities.
