According to reports, officials from about 34 countries, including the US and Germany, will participate in the global conference of power exchanges starting here tomorrow.
India’s largest power bourse Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) would be co-hosting the three-day event that would deliberate on various issues related to power market.
IEX said that executives of power exchanges and grid operators from around 34 countries across North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia would participate in the ‘APEx Conference 2012’.
According to the statement, the conference would deliberate on different trends including the increased focus on renewable energy post Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan.
Jignesh Shah, Promoter Director of IEX, Promoter Director said the annual global conference of power exchanges would be held for the first time in India.
There would also be discussions on opportunities and challenges in the Indian power sector.
Indian power market is at a nascent stage and currently there are only two electricity changes — IEX and PXIL.
IEX along with the London-based Association of Power Exchanges are organising the event.
