The civic body is paying nearly Rs 1 crore as electricity charges every month.
It is said that following the success of Operation Solar energy system at five parks in the city, the director of municipal administration, Hyderabad, has advised the corporation authorities to install similar systems to reduce electricity bills.
Speaking to Express, GMC Commissioner K Sudhakar said they are also planing to motivate the public to use solar energy.
The corporation authorities have announced incentives like property tax exemption for those who install solar energy systems at their houses.
