According to reports, Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) will set up another 10.5 MW wind farm project in Kutch district for which details are being worked out, a top company official said. “GACL has already commissioned one 10.5 MW wind farm project during fiscal year 2011-12 and with this another project the total capacity of wind farm project will go upto 21 MW,” M S Dagur, Managing Director GACL said.
Meanwhile, the company has successfully commissioned Rs 98 crore, 14,000 TPA Hydrogen Peroxide expansion project. “We have successfully commissioned Rs 98 crore, 14,000 TPA Hydrogen Peroxide Expansion Project,” Dagur said. The company is also developing technology for manufacturing 8,000 TPA Hydrazine Hydrate Project in association with Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT). Dagur claimed that GACL has achieved an all time high sales of Rs 1,863 crore, registering a growth of 19.35 per cent in a challenging financial year 2011-12. Expressing satisfaction over the achievement of all time high sales, despite competitive market conditions, he said the company could achieve better price realisation of Chlor-alkali group of products. Explaining how the company registered growth in 2011-12 despite many challenges, he quoted the generation of Rs 399 crore as Gross Profit at the face of inflationary market conditions and pressures from escalating cost of raw materials.
