Renewable Energy Certificates trading tepid in September

According to reports, as expected the trading in renewable energy certificates (REC) today (for the month of September) was weak. Sellers offered to sell 7,11,171 (non solar) RECs, but only 2,64,446 were bought, and that too, at the floor price of Rs 1,500. India, US officials meet to increase collaboration in energy

India Govt okays Rs 1900 billion discom loan recast

According to reports, the government on Monday cleared Rs 1.9-lakh crore debt restructuring for power distribution companies, the second such move in less than a decade for entities that keep running up losses due to severe political interference even in regulatory agencies that fix tariffs. IIT-Madras working on new solar cell for domestic, agriculture use

According to reports, the Indian Institute of Technology – Madras is working on perfecting the technology to use solar photo voltaic cell for domestic and agriculture use. IIT-M director Bhaskar Ramamurthi said the institute was working with three private drip irrigation companies on developing a technology that would integrate borewell pumps with solar PV cells. India’s ILFS plans up to US$406m Singapore trust IPO

According to reports, India’s Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services plans to list its wind power business through an roughly S$400m-$500m (US$325m-$406m) business trust IPO in Singapore. GACL to set up 10.5MW wind farm project in Kutch

According to reports, Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals  Limited (GACL) will set up another 10.5 MW wind farm project in Kutch district for which details are being worked out, a top company official said. “GACL has already commissioned one 10.5 MW wind farm project during fiscal year 2011-12 and with this another project the total capacity of wind farm project will go upto 21 MW,” M S Dagur, Managing Director GACL said.
