8 year long GBI and depreciation allowance for renewable energy projects likely in 12th Plan: Abdullah

According to reports, the 12th Plan may include eight-year-long generation-based incentives and depreciation allowance to boost energy from new and renewable sources. Hindustan Zinc, Ambuja Ordered to Pay Fines on failing to meet Renewable Purchase Obligations

According to reports, an Indian court ordered companies including units of billionaire Anil Agarwal’s Vedanta Resources Plc (VED) and Switzerland’s Holcim Ltd. (HOLN) to pay penalties for failing to meet clean-energy obligations at power plants they operate. Two judges of Rajasthan High Court’s Jaipur bench dismissed an appeal by Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Load shedding in Tamil Nadu may increase by October as Wind power reduces

According to reports, Tamil Nadu is going through one of its worst ever power crises. Andhra Pradesh to infuse Rs 40.71 billion equity into Genco expansion projects

According to reports, the Andhra Pradesh Government will provide Rs 4,071 crore equity to AP Genco projects coming up at Vijayawada, Kothagudem and Krishnapatnam thermal power stations. Addressing the inaugural session of three-day seminar on “Commercial Aspects Of Managing Power Utilities in Southern States,” M. VA Tech Wabag wins Rs 800 million order from Surat Municipal Corporation

According to reports, VA Tech Wabag Ltd has bagged a Rs 80 crore contract from the Surat Municipal Corporation to upgrade a sewage treatment plant. Wabag, a Chennai-based multinational in water treatment and recycling, will upgrade the existing 120 million litres a day sewage treatment plant to handle over 162 million litres. Gujarat to tap geothermal energy for power generation

According to reports, after wind and solar power, Gujarat is all set to tap another unconventional source of energy.
