According to reports, an inter-ministerial committee, set up to look into allegations of violations of the National Solar Mission (NSM) guidelines, has submitted its report, the government said today.
“An inter-ministerial committee was constituted to inquire into the allegations made in a magazine regarding violation of guidelines of the NSM. The report has been submitted by the Committee and it is being examined by the government,” New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah said in reply to a written query in Lok Sabha.
The Government launched the Mission over two years ago to install 20,000 MW power generation using solar energy resources by the year 2022. To another query on Foreign Direct Investment in new energy sector, Abdullah said, “FDI upto 100 per cent under the automatic route is permitted in non-conventional energy generation and distribution.”
He said a recent report had suggested that estimated investments in Indian clean energy sector were around USD 10.2 billion in 2011.
