Nagaraja, Chairman at IEEE PES Bangalore Chapter said,“Net – Metering policies aim to create incentives for private investment in DG Technologies by providing value electricity generation, lower project related risks, increase market penetration, keeping utility’s long term financial interest into account. The demand for power is ever increasing as the country develops and Distributed Generation is a cost effective and responsive method to meet such challenges.”
Dr. Balaraman – Workshop Convener was quoted saying, “The workshop will bring awareness and promote distributed generation facilities of Micro Grids, community level integration of renewable energy resources such as Solar, Wind and Water, help resolve existing grid related issues and also reduce the transmission congestion. This is the way forward for the long term energy security of the country. The progress in this direction is possible only with a shared understanding among all the stakeholders in the electricity industry.
