Indian firm develops own wind turbine technology

According to reports, in July last year, a windmill of 700 KW capacity began pumping electricity into the Tamil Nadu grid from Uthumalai, in Tirunelveli district. The windmill’s claim to fame lies in the fact that it has been developed by an Indian company, Garuda Vaayu Shakthi Limited. Suzlon posts Rs 3 billion loss in Jan-Mar quarter

According to reports, Suzlon Energy, the world’s fifth and India’s largest wind turbine maker on Friday has reported a net loss of Rs 300.24 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 compared to a net profit of Rs 211.05 crore clocked in the corresponding quarter last year. Vinod Tanti appointed REpower COO

According to reports, the Supervisory Board of REpower, a wholly owned subsidiary of Suzlon, has appointed Mr Marcus A. Wassenberg as Chief Financial Officer, and Mr Vinod R. Nabard makes Lohardaga village kerosene-free

According to reports, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard)’s dream of making Lohardaga village kerosene-free has come true in Ulti village. Wind energy generation picks up in Tamil Nadu once again

According to reports, wind energy generation has been picking up in the State during the last few days, resulting in higher penetration to the grid. K. Kasthoorirangaian, chairman of the Indian Wind Power Association, told The Hindu on Friday that for almost 24 hours since Thursday, wind energy penetration to the State’s grid was more than 30 per cent. Uttar Pradesh allots Rs 270 crore for solar-powered rickshaws

According to reports, in an effort to go green, the Samajwadi Party government has planned to make an initial provision of Rs 270 crore in the upcoming budget for solar-powered rickshaws. “We will provide motorised rickshaws to each rickshaw-puller in the state. We are in talks with several companies like Scooter India, Hero Honda and Bajaj for manufacturing of these rickshaws.
