Rajasthan’s solar mission delayed- Submission of RfS bid documents postponed till further notice

In February this year, the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission has lowered the tariffs for the purchase of electricity from solar power plants in the State by the state utility. A solar power producer in the State who completes his project by March 31, 2014, will get Rs 10.12 a unit if he does not claim ‘accelerated depreciation’ and Rs 8.85 a unit, if he also claims accelerated depreciation. CESC acquires two hydropower projects in Arunachal Pradesh

According to reports, CESC Ltd on Wednesday said it has acquired India Bulls group outfits engaged in developing two separate hydropower projects in Arunachal Pradesh. In a communication to the stock exchanges, CESC said it entered into agreements to take over the hydroelectric projects with an aggregate capacity of 146 MW in Arunachal. Delta Electronics likely to delay India plant on poor market conditions

According to reports, Thailand’s biggest electronics firm  Delta Electronics (Thailand) Plc is likely to delay the construction of a new plant in India due to sluggish market conditions, a media report has said. Power Grid India suffers setback as 765 KV line tower collapses

According to reports, POWER GRID suffered a major setback when a tower of newly constructed 765 KV Gaya Fatehpur transmission line collapsed. The plan of Power Grid Corporation to commission 345 Km long 765 KV transmission lines between Eastern Region and Northern Region suffered the setback after a line tower collapsed on April 12. Punjab ERC allows state discom to carry forward renewable purchase obligations

According to reports, the Punjab Electricity Regulatory Commission has allowed the state electricity distribution company, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd, to carry forward its renewable energy purchase obligations. The discom, an ‘obligated entity’ (which is required to buy a specified portion of power from renewable sources) could not meet its obligations for the year 2011-12 in full. Welspun plans 500 MW of solar power projects

According to reports, the Welspun group plans to put up 500 MW of solar photovoltaic capacity by 2016-17, the rating agency CARE has said. CARE, which recently rated a debt instrument of one of the Welspun group companies, said the group today has a capacity of 30 MW under various special purpose vehicles.
