In a first, wind, solar energy for temples in Tamil Nadu

Suzlon’s Jaisalmer Wind park crosses 1GW installed capacity

The Jaisalmer wind park, being developed by the Suzlon Group, crossed 1,000 MW of installed capacity at the end of FY12, reaching 1,064 MW on Apr. 01, 2012. Tamil Nadu reduces power tariffs for powerloom weavers

According to reports, in order to meet demands of powerloom weavers who are on strike for over a week, the Chief Minister, Ms J. Jayalalithaa, today reduced the power tariffs for them which would entail the exchequer an additional Rs 59.69 crore. Making a suo motu statement in the Assembly, she said free power supply to those weavers using up to 500 units for two months would continue as announced earlier. C-Wet starts new wind assessment project in India

Bonfiglioli plans to make solar inverters in India – crosses 200MW in inverter sales

According to reports, Italian company Bonfiglioli, a supplier of solar inverters in India, plans to produce the inverters here after one year. Bonfiglioli has two manufacturing plants near Chennai where it produces a range of products such as gear boxes, motors and drives.
