National Power Exchange gets merger offers from Indian Energy Exchange and Power Exchange India

According to reports, the National Power Exchange (NPEX), the country’s third power exchange which is yet to launch its operations, has received separate merger proposals from the other two power exchanges, Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) and Power Exchange India (PXI). Firms in India bet on solar power

According to reports, with India’s total installed solar power capacity about to touch 1,000 mega-watts (MW), corporate houses including Tata, Mahindra and Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group are betting big on solar power. All of them plan to add 100 MW of capacity each in the next three years. Workshop on renewable energy held in Mysore

According to reports, Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) in association with the Mysore City Corporation, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) and Institution of Engineers, Mysore chapter on Tuesday organised a workshop on the use of renewable energy and the proper utilisation of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) here. Solar Power Plants in Kashmir

According to reports, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah today inaugurated a 18-KW Solar Power Plant at Sub-District Hospital at Charar-i-Sharief in Budgam district. CESC hikes power tariff in Kolkata by 15 paise per unit

According to reports, Kolkatans will have to shell out more money for their monthly electricity bill as private power utility CESC today raised its tariff by 15 paise per unit. CESC Executive Director, Mr Utpal Bhattacharya, said the hike in tariff would be applicable to all categories of consumers from the billing month of May. SunEdison to power rural India with distributed solar generation plants

SunEdison, a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc.
