Sterlite Industries expands wind capacity installation in India to around 274 MW

In January last year, Suzlon, had signed an agreement with Hindustan Zinc Limited, a Vedanta Group company and the world’s largest producer of zinc, to set up, operate and maintain 150 megawatt (MW) of wind power projects across the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. SEMI India re-iterates its commitment to skill development for the solar industry

650 MW solar power projects to be inaugurated in Gujarat: Modi

According to reports, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi  said 15 solar projects with a capacity to produce 650MW power will be dedicated to the nation at Charanka solar park in north Gujarat on April 19. Talking to a group of Solar Power Developers Forum, Modi said all these 15 projects have been completed in a record time of 16 months. Chennai based Gemini Communications to roll out solar energy based solutions to 1000 telecom towers in the next one year

According to reports,  Gemini, which recently forayed into solar PV (photovoltaic)-based energy is looking at providing solar-based air conditioning and cooling systems to the institutional segment.  “Over the years, we have developed relationships with lot of companies and this will be an additional offering to our customers,” Pradhyumna T Venkat, chief executive officer, enterprise applications and energy services, Gemini said. Mandatory energy norms for firms in India expected to bring investments of Rs.100-120billion in energy efficiency projects

According to reports, top industrial units of Reliance Industries Ltd, Hindalco, NTPC and Vedanta among others would now have to cut down on their energy consumption. The Union government has notified unit-specific energy use norms that would require these companies to put in an investment of Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 12,000 crore in energy-efficiency projects.
