WELSPUN Solar, India appoints meeco as Engineering and Pre-Operational Technical Consultant for 50MW solar plant

The meeco Group was appointed as “Engineering and Pre-Operational Technical Consultant” for the upcoming 50 MW PV solar project in Rajasthan, India of  Welspun Solar. The meeco Group and its Indian subsidiary, meeco India Pvt. Ltd., will be involved in the project. Alstom T&D India commissions 220 kV substation for solar power plant in Rajasthan

Alstom T & D India has successfully commissioned 220 kV substation in the presence of Farooq Abdullah, minister of MNRE, Ashok Gahlot, chief minister of Rajasthan and Anil Dhirubai Ambani, chairman of Reliance Infrastructure. NTL Electronics forms JV with Lemnis Lighting for LED lights

According to reports, NTL Electronics India today said it has formed an equal joint venture with the Netherlands- based Lemnis Lighting to produce LED lights for both home and commercial purpose. “The new 50:50 JV company, which will be jointly controlled through offices in Barneveld, Netherlands and Noida, India, will also have sales offices in South Africa and Ghana,” NTL Electronics India said in a statement. Biomass power generation installed capacity in India crosses 620MW during 11’th plan

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has been implementing a scheme for promotion of power generation from biomass including rice husk. Electricity trading to undergo transformation in India: PTC

According to reports, PTC India Ltd (PTCIL) expects the electricity trading segment to undergo a major change following a clarification over the Open Access System. It has also increased its focus on renewable energy and has signed PPAs for more than 600 MW and has signed MoUs for solar power for over 1800 MW. Training students in renewable energy technology

Suzlon divests in windfarm assets to raise Rs 2 bn

Suzlon Group, the largest wind turbine maker, announced the sale of a block of wind assets for approximately USD 40 million (Rs 2 billion). The windfarms are located across India, with a majority of the assets located in the state of Tamil Nadu.
